Earlier this year the 26 rows of blueberry plants look mostly like the picture above. A lot of pruning was ahead of us. Because of Covid-19 I had the help of both of my sons in the pruning endeavor. For the first time in several years we were able to prune all of the plants. Normally pruning starts the Friday after Thanksgiving and we try to be done well before May. However after pruning the rows looked much more like this:
With the mulching done during the winter (you will know more about that later) and the pruning done in early May we could now move on to other farm work.
